In a tweet uploaded this morning, the Ministry of Education of the Nation wrote: “Every May 2 we remember the crew of the General Belgrano Cruise, which in the context of the Malvinas war was attacked by the English nuclear submarine while “It was sailing in the opposite direction to the Islands, outside the Total Exclusion Area.”
However, the photo that accompanies the text is not that of the ARA General Belgrano Cruiser, but that of the British destroyer HMS Sheffield that was sunk on May 10, when Argentine Super Étendard fighter-bombers fired a pair of Exocet AM 39 missiles at it.
