Juan Díaz , a popular Canadian influencer with Argentine and Colombian roots , has taken his career as a content creator a step further by bringing a powerful and symbolic message to the Malvina Islands .
Through his YouTube channel Planeta Juan , this YouTuber has shared a video that not only shows the beauty of this territory, but also pays tribute to the Argentine soldiers who lost their lives in the 1982 war .
Díaz , who grew up in Colombia and has a deep connection to Argentina , decided to visit the Darwin Cemetery , where the remains of soldiers who fell during the conflict rest .
Upon arriving at the cemetery, Juan unfurled the Argentine flag and pulled out a T-shirt that commemorates the iconic shirt that Diego Maradona wore during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
In his speech, he explained how Argentina's victory in that tournament represented a ray of hope for a people still facing the pain of war .
" Four years after the war, Argentina would have a triumph. A triumph that was televised and experienced not only by Argentines, but by the world. This shirt that I have in my hands was the one that led the team to glory ," he commented, highlighting the significance of that moment in Argentine history.
" The young people, the children, those who are buried here, were never able to see those goals, were never able to celebrate that victory ," Juan reflected, as he placed the shirt on a cross in the Darwin cemetery .
To conclude his emotional tribute, Juan expressed his wish that one day Argentine identity would be celebrated anywhere in the world without restrictions.
" Today, I leave this flag here, in a place where it will be valued. I hope that one day we can celebrate our history and our identity without inconvenience ," he said while waving the legitimate national flag of the Malvinas Islands , part of the province of Tierra del Fuego and of the Argentine Nation .
Then, as he left the flag in the cemetery and the flagpole stuck in the ground, so that everyone who walks through the cemetery can wave the light blue and white colors, the influencer explained that he did it “ in the name of the pain of a people that I consider as a brother .”
“ What the British may not know is that Argentina is not only the country that is here on the shore of this sea, Argentina is all of us who speak Spanish from Mexico down, that is the brotherhood that we have on this continent, there are many of us and we all feel like brothers, ” he concluded.
