The sailboat "Galileo", owned by the ex-combatant from Bahía Blanca, Nilo Navas, and assigned to the Malvinas Argentinas Foundation, will begin a two-stage expedition starting in January .
Under the command of Captain Jorge Patoco , it will set sail from Ushuaia towards Isla de los Estados, sailing in the company of the sailboat "Pampa Mía".

A team of scientists on board will conduct specific studies during this first phase, which will replicate the historic route of the Espora schooner of Luis Piedrabuena , which sank in 1873.
In February, with a different crew, the "Galileo" will embark on the second stage of its journey: it will head to the Malvina Islands, where it will spend a week visiting sites linked to the 1982 war.
After these activities are completed, the sailboat will head towards the mainland, with planned stops in Bahía Blanca and Mar del Plata, before finally arriving at the Port of Buenos Aires. It will remain there throughout 2026 for general maintenance.
The Malvinas Argentinas Foundation expressed its gratitude for the support received for these activities and highlighted the commitment of the crews participating in the expedition, which combines archaeological research with a meaningful historical tribute.
