The Commander of the Southern Naval Area (ANAU), Navy Commodore José Alberto Martí Garro , received last Thursday, June 27, the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile in Argentina, José Antonio Viera Gallo , at the facilities of the Ushuaia Naval Base.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the Counselor, María Francisca Montealegre Novoa; the Consul of the Republic of Chile in Ushuaia, Rodrigo Toledo Bastidas, and the Naval Attaché of Chile in Argentina, Captain Félix Miranda Zelada.

Upon arrival, the Chilean delegation was welcomed by a formation led by the heads of Destination and members of the ANAU Staff, while the Music Band did the corresponding honors.

The visit took place within the framework of the 70th Anniversary of the Consulate of Chile in the city of Ushuaia, celebrated on June 27, and focused on the program of activities planned for the 40th Anniversary of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship signed. between Argentina and Chile in 1984, which will be commemorated on November 29.

The meeting took place in the Meeting Room of the ANAU Commander, who informed the authorities of the neighboring country about the jurisdiction, mission and main activities carried out by the subordinate Destinations, in addition to reviewing the forecasts for the activities. for next November.
