The saga surrounding the radar installed at the "El Relincho" ranch took its most decisive turn on Tuesday since Agenda Malvinas denounced its installation in June 2023. The provincial court ruled in favor of the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ) of Tierra del Fuego, ordering the dissolution of the company LeoLabs Argentina SRL.

This court decision responds to the action initiated in September 2024 by the IGJ ( Resolution No. 607/2024 ), which raised the issue of the "supervening impossibility of fulfilling its corporate purpose." In simple terms: if the company lacks national and provincial permits to operate for reasons of national security, its existence as a commercial entity becomes meaningless under the National Companies Law (No. 19,550).
From the "press operation" to the judicial reality
It's necessary to remember. In September 2024, this website pointed out the ambivalent attitude of Gustavo Melella's government . At that time, we described the official announcement of the dissolution request as a "press operation," given that we observed the provincial executive trying to feign concern, after having been a necessary accomplice in the installation of the radar alongside Alberto Fernández 's administration.
However, what in 2024 was an announcement with a propagandistic slant has now become a court ruling . The civil and commercial court has validated that LeoLabs can no longer exist as a company registered in the province's public registry.
Without business, there is no defense.
The dissolution of the company has immediate legal effects:
1. Loss of Authorization: The IGJ will proceed to remove the registration.
2. Corporate Defenselessness: Without a legally constituted company, any claim by the company before the federal or international forum loses its basis, since the "legal person" has ceased to exist in the local sphere.
3. Accelerated Disarmament: This ruling complements the recent decision by the Superior Court of Justice to declare itself competent to order the demolition of the structures requested by the municipality of Tolhuin. If the company no longer exists, there is no legal owner who can oppose the removal of the antenna field belonging to the British and Irish subsidiary of LeoLabs Inc.
The end of impunity for "local partners"
The ruling also puts the local actors who supported this project under scrutiny. We cannot forget that LeoLabs Argentina SRL had directors and representatives—such as Pablo Bilbao—directly linked to the provincial political establishment (FORJA), who systematically denied the radar's military capabilities until the United Kingdom itself exposed them by announcing agreements to monitor military satellites.
What's next?
Unless the company manages to get its foot in the door at the U.S. embassy, a direct action by the national government to stop the measure, or a last-minute federal intervention—something legally complex after a firm provincial ruling on registration issues—the Provincial Government will be forced to cancel LeoLabs' registration.
From Agenda Malvinas, we will closely monitor the progress of business and political actions to try to halt or expedite compliance with this ruling. A mere dissolution on paper is not enough; the people of Tierra del Fuego demand to see this threat to our national sovereignty, which should never have been allowed, dismantled piece by piece.
