At around 2 pm on Thursday 22nd, and to the beat of the Southern Naval Area (ANAU) Music Band, the The destroyer ARA “Sarandí” and the corvette ARA “Espora” of the Sea Fleet, and the ocean patrol vessel ARA “Almirante Storni” of the Maritime Patrol Division moored at the commercial dock of the capital of Tierra del Fuego and at the Comodoro de Marina Augusto Lasserre dock of the Ushuaia Naval Base.
They were received by the Chief of the General Staff of the Navy, Vice Admiral Carlos María Allievi , accompanied by the Deputy Chief, Vice Admiral Marcelo Ricardo Flamini; the Commander of Training and Readiness of the Navy, Rear Admiral Juan Carlos Coré , and the Commander of the ANAU, Rear Admiral José Alberto Marti Garro.
One day before the arrival, the Argentine Units said goodbye the frigate “Liberal” of the Brazilian Navy, which continued its route towards Chile, to continue towards the mouth of the Beagle Channel, where prior to entering they met the fast boat ARA “Intrépida” and the patrol boats ARA “Barranqueras”, “Baradero” and “Clorinda”, with which they carried out tactical maneuvers, also adding a Fennec helicopter from the First Naval Helicopter Squadron.

After leaving the city, the “Espora” and the “Almirante Storni” will begin maritime patrol operations in the Exclusive Economic Zone, while the destroyer “Sarandí” will continue towards Valparaíso (Chile), where it will participate in the multinational exercise Unitas LXV, together with 24 navies of Atlantic countries, including the HMS Protector of the Royal Navy (the British Navy) that operates in waters usurped from Argentina, in the Malvinas Islands.
