The United Kingdom closes 2025 with a sixth military exercise in the Malvina Islands

Under the doctrine of "Global Britain," London is intensifying its deployment in the islands. On December 23, troops from the Royal Irish Regiment will conduct a tactical march from Mount Pleasant to Puerto Argentino, marking the culmination of a year of systematic violations of UN resolutions.

The exercise will run from 06:00 to 18:00 and will serve as a baptism of fire for Company B of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment, The Rifles.

The British colonial enclave in the Malvina Islands is preparing to execute its sixth large-scale military exercise so far in 2025. According to official reports from the Mount Pleasant Complex ( MPC ), next Tuesday, December 23, the occupying forces will conduct a tactical march and logistical deployment that will cross the central axis of the archipelago, linking the military base with Puerto Argentino .

This new troop movement comes just days before the end of a year marked by an escalation in the frequency and complexity of military exercises, all of them carried out in open contravention of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 31/49 , which urges the parties not to introduce unilateral changes to the situation while the sovereignty dispute persists.

"Operation Christmas": The debut of the Royal Irish Regiment

The maneuver on December 23, which will run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., will serve as an operational baptism for B Company of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Irish Regiment , a unit that recently relieved the riflemen of The Rifles .

Although London presents these movements as "regular operational activities", the ground deployment involves:

2025: The year of uninterrupted militarization

With this sixth exercise, Great Britain completes a training schedule that has covered all dimensions of combat:

1.    February ("Marinization"): Joint land-sea exercises with the ship HMS Forth .

2.    March ("Cape Kukri III"): Large-scale training of Gurkha marksmen with blank ammunition.

3.    April: Night combat and live-fire drills with RAF support.

4.    October ("ExCape Sword"): Maritime insertions and paratrooper drops in sensitive areas such as Wireless Ridge .

5.    October ("Kop Shield"): Evaluation of the Sky Sabre anti-aircraft system, whose technology —ironically— features software from the Israeli company Rafael , linked to businessman Eduardo Elsztain, close to the Argentine Executive.

6.    December (Tactical March): Closing the year with the deployment of the Royal Irish Regiment.

A deafening Argentine silence

The increased presence of Eurofighter Typhoons , missile defense systems, and the rotation of elite troops is occurring amidst passivity from the Argentine Foreign Ministry. Since the current administration took office, there have been no strong condemnations or formal complaints filed with international organizations regarding these maneuvers.

This lack of diplomatic reaction, coupled with speeches that mention the "self-determination" of the islanders, marks a dangerous shift in Argentine foreign policy, interpreted by analysts as a "tacit complicity" in the consolidation of the most important military base in the South Atlantic.

The Mount Pleasant base (BFSAI) , with its approximately 1,500 personnel and state-of-the-art technology, is not only an affront to national sovereignty but also a key component of NATO's global strategy. While the United Kingdom reaffirms in its 2025 Strategic Defence Review that the Malvina Islands are a "priority for the 21st century," Argentina appears to be withdrawing from active protest, leaving the field open for the invader to continue testing warfare on Argentine soil.
