Chilean right welcomes British Defence Minister's visit to Malvinas

The announcement of the arrival of the UK Defence Minister, Luke Pollard, to the usurped Argentine islands was accompanied by provocative comments on social media by some right-wing Chileans who operate in Punta Arenas as if Pinochet were alive.

Spokesmen for the Chilean military sector and British interests speak out on social media

Shortly after the news of the visit of the United Kingdom's Minister of Defense, Luke Pollard , to our usurped Malvinas Islands, the Chilean-Magellanic Twitter commentator Cesar Quezada published a provocative message on his account on the social network X, using concepts far removed from Chile's historic diplomatic support for Argentina in the United Nations and specifically in the Decolonization Committee.

In two paragraphs designed to leave no doubt as to his servile condescension to the British, Quezada commented: “The Minister of Armed Forces of the United Kingdom will visit our neighbouring archipelago of the Malvinas.

The archipelago is strengthening its defensive capabilities in response to the arrival of F16 fighter planes in Argentina.”

“Ours,” said the mosquito. Anyway...

Quezada and others operate with little subtlety from Punta Arenas, as spokesmen for a Chilean military sector and for the British interests of Magellan and the usurping colony in Malvinas - to make known what they do not want to say officially or publicly -; it is centered on the presence of Luke Pollard and in “strengthening defensive capabilities in view of the arrival of F-16 fighter planes in Argentina” by the United Kingdom.

Let us recall that last Friday it was announced that Argentina had closed an agreement with the United States Department of State (US) that approved the sale of a package of cutting-edge weapons, worth 941 million dollars, for the F-16 aircraft that Argentina bought from Denmark . This sale must be dealt with by the US Congress for final approval.

There was no shortage of comments from Quezada 's followers who were in favor of Chile following the example of the United Kingdom and NATO , which have been strengthening and fortifying the islands taken from Argentina.

One of Quezada 's followers even posted a photo showing Luke Pollard sharing a conversation in which Leona Vidal Roberts, a member of the illegitimate Legislative Assembly born in Punta Arenas, also participated.

Really positive discussion with Armed Forces Minister, @LukePollard, about the strategic importance of the Malvina Islands and the strong relationship we enjoy with the UK. #Malvinas #LPC24 🇫🇰🤝🏻🇬🇧 pic.twitter.com/19KPCKdX06
