South Korea recognizes the work of the Argentine Prefecture, while plundering the Malvinas with Great Britain

The Argentine Naval Prefecture received recognition from the Asian country for a rescue operation last year. This is the same nation whose fleet plunders fishing resources on the edge of the Exclusive Economic Zone, and also in the Malvinas, under an illegal British license.

Recognitions and diplomas for those who plunder natural resources under an illegal British license.

The official website Argentina.gob.ar reported on Tuesday, March 11, that "The Korean Embassy recognized the Prefecture for its outstanding work in an air evacuation at sea." This information is incomplete and fails to specify that it refers to the Embassy of South Korea , not North Korea.

The Javier Milei administration stated: “The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Lee Yong-soo, recognized the Argentine Naval Prefecture for its meritorious actions in a rescue operation carried out last year. Yong-soo presented a recognition to the National Naval Prefect, Prefect General Guillermo José Giménez Pérez (…), in honor of the work carried out by the Force's personnel.”

The distinction is related to the successful operation carried out by the Argentine Naval Prefecture in March of last year, when members of the force carried out an aeroevacuation of a crew member of the South Korean fishing vessel SAE IN CHAMPION who was fishing off Puerto Madryn and was experiencing severe abdominal pain.

The location of the Korean fishing vessel, this Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

The official Argentine publication praises the South Korean government 's recognition of the Prefecture for rescuing a citizen of that nationality, but fails to mention the systematic violations of fishing laws, the customs code, and national sovereignty committed by that country's fleet in the Malvina Islands, by fishing with an illegal British license in waters adjacent to the southern archipelago.

A predatory action that South Korea has been carrying out for decades, alongside vessels flying the Taiwanese, Spanish, and Vanuatu flags ; and which successive Argentine governments incomprehensibly fail to disclose.
