The Municipality, the UNVM (National University of Villa María) and Veterans Centers formed the Malvinas Observatory .
Representing the “Islas Malvinas” War Veterans Center, Guillermo Gutiérrez said that completing this project “is a desire of many years.”
The dean of the Academic Pedagogical Institute of Social Sciences of the UNVM, Gabriel Suárez, pointed out that “it is proud to be part of and think about Malvinas and integrate it with Antarctica in a concept of sovereignty.”
The observatory will work with all social and educational institutions, in the city, the region, the country and all of Latin America, that "promote objectives similar to those proposed in this resolution and are interested in the Malvinas Question and the elimination of situations of colonial domination on our continent.”
The new institution will seek to strengthen the work of organizations in defense of territorial sovereignty “through the development of social practices that strengthen inclusion.”
Of the signature signed in the Oval Room , in addition to the signatories, the Secretary of Government, Culture and Institutional Relations, Marcos Bovo, signed; the Academic Secretary of the UNVM, Javier Díaz Araujo.
For his part, the mayor of Villa Maria, Eduardo Accastello, considered that "our Malvinas represent us in terms of sovereignty, that is why we work on it from culture and education."
He added that "the Observatory is a challenge that not only analyzes backwards and vindicates the cause, but also thinks about what the Villamarienes want for our islands, the positive assessment and participation of War Veterans in the community."
