The Malvinas, South Atlantic, and Antarctic Observatory of the National University of Rosario and AMSAFE Rosario Branch launched the teacher training course "Malvinas Goes to School" on July 30th. This four-session, in-person course is designed for teachers at all levels and modalities of the education system. The initiative represents a collaborative effort between the public university and AMSAFE Rosario , a People's Free Organization, strengthening the link between academic production, the education workers' movement, and institutions committed to building a sovereign consciousness. This convergence reflects a vision of university outreach understood as a space for ongoing cooperation between scientific knowledge and community organizations to address the specific needs of the education system.

The training is developed within a solid regulatory framework that transforms the teaching of the Malvinas Question into a true state educational policy . National Education Law No. 26,206 mandates the inclusion of the cause of the recovery of the full exercise of sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and the corresponding maritime and insular spaces within the common curriculum of the Argentine education system. In addition, Law No. 26,651 mandates the use of the Bicontinental Map of the Argentine Republic in all educational establishments and public bodies, promoting a comprehensive representation of the national territory. Similarly, Article 4 of the Constitution of the Province of Santa Fe reaffirms Argentina's legitimate and imprescriptible sovereignty over the Malvinas and promotes its dissemination and teaching as part of the historical, territorial, and cultural heritage of the Nation and the Province.

The training program comprises four sessions that address the topic from an interdisciplinary perspective. The first session, held on July 30 , was dedicated to introducing the Malvinas cause and issue and its historical context, analyzing the background of Argentine sovereignty, the British occupation of 1833, the continuity of the diplomatic claim, and the decolonization process promoted by the United Nations. The remaining sessions will develop the main themes that structure the entire "Malvinas World." The planned content includes: the legal and diplomatic core, with special attention to international law, United Nations resolutions, and the decolonization process; the geopolitical, geographical, and cartographic core, focusing on the South Atlantic, Antarctica, the continental shelf, and the pedagogical use of the bicontinental map; and the economic and strategic resources core, which will address fishing, hydrocarbons, maritime projection, and the geoeconomic importance of the region. Cognitive warfare, language and disputes over meaning, oriented towards the analysis of symbolic and communicational representations about the Malvinas; and, finally, the South Atlantic Conflict of 1982 and the Malvinas War from multiple dimensions, with the participation of War Veterans from the Center of Ex-Combatant Soldiers of the Malvinas of Rosario and the guidelines for the presentation of the final works prepared by the students.

The teaching staff includes Juan Facundo Besson, director of the Malvinas, South Atlantic and Antarctic Observatory at the National University of Rosario (UNR); María Salomón, Gonzalo Pellegrini, Juan Natalizio, César Trejo, Ernesto Dufour, and others. The course also benefits from the particularly significant participation of the Rosario Center for Malvinas War Veterans , whose members will provide firsthand accounts of those who experienced the conflict, enriching the training with a human, historical, and ethical dimension essential for teaching. As a final requirement, the teachers will develop interdisciplinary teaching proposals applicable in the classroom, integrating the content covered throughout the course with the aim of making the teaching of the Malvinas a cross-cutting theme in Argentine education and a tool for forming citizens committed to national sovereignty.
