Legislator Matías Lapadula , from the Provincia Grande party, presented a draft resolution to request a report from the provincial Executive on the implementation of the national and provincial laws that establish mandatory training on the Malvinas Question for public officials of the three branches of government .

The request for further details on the actions of the Tierra del Fuego government comes after a meeting between the Secretary of the Malvinas, Antarctica, South Atlantic Islands and International Affairs, Andrés Dachary, and officials from the Tucuman government , where the development of Malvinas training in the northern province of the country was announced .

What is striking about the situation is that, although the training was established by law, it is not being carried out in Tierra del Fuego , a province that includes the Malvina Islands and maritime and insular territories of the South Atlantic, usurped by British colonialism, within its jurisdiction.

The initiative of the Fuegian parliamentarian recalls that, in 2022 , Law 27,671 was passed, approved with broad consensus and supported by the Foreign Ministry , to strengthen awareness about sovereignty in the extreme south of Argentina.

However, Gustavo Mellela's administration has yet to fulfill its established obligations, despite the fact that the province includes the Malvina Islands and maritime and island territories in the South Atlantic within its jurisdiction.

The province adopted the law through its endorsement last December , but Lapadula 's project aims to determine the status of the training, how many personnel were reached, and what efforts were made with national authorities to ensure compliance, despite the fact that the provincial administration has not made any progress in this regard.
