Carlos Foradori, former vice chancellor of Mauricio Macri during his presidency, was appointed Permanent Representative of Argentina to International Organizations in Geneva through the Decree 317/2024, published in the official gazette of the Nation in the last few hours.
The news generated repercussions because the former Macrista official, and now under the management of Javier Milei, was one of the protagonists of the disastrous agreement with Great Britain, which meant a setback in diplomatic matters for the Malvinas Question, from 2016 onwards.
But the controversy reached a surprising level when the English representative who signed the controversial treaty, Sir Alan Duncan , recorded it in a book of his authorship; that the Argentine was drunk at the time of agreeing with Great Britain on the agreement on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
The infamous treaty, called "Foradori-Duncan", meant accepting that the United Kingdom gave free rein to communication, fishing, hydrocarbon exploitation and trade projects in the Malvina Islands.
