The note, which bears the signature of its president, VGM Juan Carlos Parodi, was sent to legislators Federico Sciurano, Juan Carlos Pino, Matías Lapadula, Raúl Von der Thusen, Pablo Villegas, and legislators Victoria Vuoto, Natalia Gracianía and Laura Colazo.

The Malvinas War Veterans Center in Ushuaia (CEMU) formally requested a first extension from the legislators comprising the Special Investigating Commission, following the deadlines established when the commission was created last June . The initiative seeks to ensure the continuity of parliamentary proceedings aimed at clarifying the political, institutional, and administrative responsibilities surrounding the installation of the LeoLabs radar in Tolhuin.

The institutional presentation was sent directly to the legislators who make up the working group: Federico Sciurano, Juan Carlos Pino, Matías Lapadula, Raúl Von der Thusen, Pablo Villegas, Victoria Vuoto, Natalia Gracianía and Laura Colazo .

The reasons for the request: delayed documentation and key absences

The veterans' institution based its request on the large number of test measurements that are still pending. Among the critical issues highlighted, it emphasized that various areas of the Provincial Executive Branch—led by the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers— have yet to submit official files and liaison communications related to the authorizations for the technological sensor.

In addition to the document retention, there is an urgent need to obtain crucial testimonial statements that could not be made on the scheduled dates:

The request submitted by the veterans' organization coincides with the Resolution Project promoted under Issue No. 480/2026 by the president of the commission, legislator Pablo Villegas , which proposes extending the body's operating period to process the more than 5,000 pages accumulated in the file and await the expert reports requested from the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE).

For the Ex-Combatants Center, closing the work period without having exhausted the questioning of all the officials involved would deprive the Fuegian society of reconstructing the chain of decisions that allowed the installation of the British sensor in the heart of the province.
