At the southern tip of the continent, where the wind never lets you forget, the city of Río Grande breathes its Malvinas identity even more deeply . This April 2nd is no ordinary day: it marks 44 years since the temporary recovery of the Islands , and the city, ratified by National Law as the National Capital of the Vigil , is preparing to welcome veterans, their families, and press from all over the country.
A timeline for collective memory
The Municipality of Río Grande has designed an agenda that spans all generations, from kindergartens to senior citizens, understanding that sovereignty is built in the classroom and on the street.

One of this year's key initiatives is the inclusion of children . Through the Malvinas Play Centers (March 27 and 31), the Municipal Government aims to introduce young children to the cause through play and identity, ensuring that the sovereignty claim does not die with the generations who lived through the conflict.
The focus on the "Tent of Dignity"
On March 25th, at 11:00 AM, the doors of the Tent of Dignity will open. This space is the heart of Rio Grande's spirit; there, veterans welcome schools, neighbors, and visitors to tell, in their own words, a story that books sometimes tell in a detached way.

A large central event and the traditional parade in front of the War Memorial are being organized for Thursday, the 2nd. All institutions wishing to participate are invited to contact [email protected] .
