Ten Argentines are finalists in the contest “Why I would like to meet my neighbours in the Malvinas”

The British Embassy in Argentina announced this. It is a regional competition, which offers a week-long trip for students from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay to visit the usurped islands.

The 10 young university students selected by Great Britain to learn about the usurping colony and its customs.

The British Embassy in Argentina announced the 10 finalists from our country, participants of the 2024/2025 Regional Student Competition. The contestants sent a one-minute video, answering in English the question “Why would I like to meet my neighbours from the Malvina Islands?”

“This regional competition, organised by the Government of the Malvina Islands and the British Embassies in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, offers the winners (one from each country) the opportunity to visit the Malvinas for a week with all expenses covered.

The contest aims to promote cultural exchange between the Malvinas and the region, and to spread knowledge about the islands and their people. This is the fifth time that this contest has been held in Argentina ," the embassy itself officially reported.

In order to participate in the competition, applicants submitted student certificates issued by the following universities: Catholic University of Córdoba (Córdoba), Inter-American Open University (Rosario), University of Aconcagua (Mendoza), Dr. Ricardo Rojas Higher Institute for Teacher Training No. 21 (Buenos Aires Province), Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), Catholic University of Salta (Salta), National University of Salta (Salta), Argentine University of Business (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), and University of Belgrano (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires).

Neither the Foreign Ministry, nor the National Interuniversity Council, nor the government of Tierra del Fuego issued an opinion regarding such an act of provocation by the British usurper.
