Sea ice in Antarctica reached its historical minimum in February

The winter in the northern hemisphere has been the second warmest ever recorded in Europe and according to a European study, the extent of sea ice last February in Antarctica registered the lowest level since records began.

The extent of sea ice in Antarctica reached its historical minimum last February, according to the latest report from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), deployed by the European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecasts of the European Commission.
