A new official appointed by the UK Foreign Office, the Foreign Office; He temporarily holds the position of colonial governor of the Malvina Islands and acting commissioner of the islands of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. This is Adam Rhodri Pile Obe , second in command of the Directorate of Overseas Territories, and son of a veteran of the Malvinas War.
The signatures of the transfer of command were made this Monday, July 26, at the desk of the Government House of the British colony of Malvinas, the same one that was used by Rex Hunt in 1982 and then -in the same year-, by Benjamín Menéndez himself as military governor of the islands during the 74 days of Argentine recovery.
Acting Governor Dave Morgan will resume his duties once he has concluded his annual leave on Monday, August 19.
Acting Governor Adam Pile said it was a “truly honor to be able to once again serve these beautiful Islands over the coming weeks. Since I have a personal connection to the Islands, my father served as a soldier here during the war in 1982, it makes it even more special. During my brief tenure in office I hope to be able to meet as many members of the community as possible in number and time.”

In his X account, Pile also stated that he had been working on the rescue and support operation for the survivors of the damaged Argos Georgia.
Pile also added that during his brief stay as acting Governor he will have on his desk a photo of his father from 1982 with him as a child, on his shoulders upon returning home after the conflict.
