The British are already negotiating the construction of the new port in the Malvinas with KLM

Three days after it was announced that the government of the British colony that usurps the Islands from Argentina decided to close the negotiations to build a large-scale port in Puerto Argentino with the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, during the day on Friday it was announced that a new negotiation had been opened with Keynvor MorLift Ltd (KLM); a UK based contracting company specialising in onshore, offshore and inshore marine services and operations, with extensive experience spanning from marine renewable energy construction projects to cargo projects, marine civil engineering, salvage operations and many more specialist marine and offshore services.

The preview published by the Mercopress website, quotes Kelper MP Mark Pollard as saying to the island's weekly Penguin News; in which he comments that KLM "has been involved in this type of development for a long time." Although he did not want to provide any further details at this time.

What the usurping legislator did specify is that Great Britain remains committed to completing the new port project and replacing the old structure, including the barges, walkways and access roads, in a timely manner; no later than the end of 2027.

“Despite the setback, we remain fully committed to the construction of the port and will continue to advance the project. While this event has been unfortunate, we are confident in our path forward, and we hope to be able to bring this vital project, so important for the future of our economic activity, to fruition,” he added.

Pollard also clarified that the cessation of negotiations will not cost the colony, since there was a formal contract with the company, so there were no fees to pay, just some legal fees and advice, "but nothing major in terms of costs," he said.
