The government of the British colony of the Malvinas Islands is immersed in a restructuring of its “administrative organization chart, which involves changes in names, integrations, preparation of personnel and allocation of funds in matters of control and exploitation of natural resources.” This was announced this Saturday by the Mercopress website, which serves as the unofficial spokesperson for the kelpers.
The media's publication is based on statements given by Gavin Short , a member of the colonial legislature; who complained about the low importance that is being given to the countryside, and the counterpoint expressions formulated by the director of Natural Resources Andrea Clausen , who refuted the legislator's arguments.
In a list of the adjustments that are being carried out to serve the different productive sectors, Clausen stated; that after the scheduled restructuring, the portfolio under his charge will have a Deputy Director to advise all the Boards that make up the area; and for which new additional administrative management positions are planned for the Department of Fisheries, including a head of Fisheries Administration and another for Fisheries Development, to ensure a “robust vision” of Natural Resources operations.
