The city of Bariloche experienced a historic and emotional day on Wednesday with the transfer of the last Mirage III EA aircraft that participated in the Malvinas War . The iconic fighter, donated by the Argentine Air Force, flew through the city streets to take up permanent residence in the future Malvinas Multi-Space Memorial .

This plane holds special significance for the local community, as it was flown on four of its sixteen missions by Bariloche pilot Jorge Luis Huck. Its presence in the city is a powerful symbol of sovereignty and a tribute to Huck and all war veterans.

The transfer, which began at the Nahuel Huapi Airfield, generated great excitement among residents and tourists, who stopped to watch the historic aircraft pass by. The convoy, which included coordination from various security and traffic agencies, moved along Route 40 North, Comandante Luis Piedrabuena Street, and 12 de Octubre Street, causing intermittent roadblocks from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Mirage III EA will be the centerpiece of the Malvinas Multi-Space Memorial , a project that seeks to become a unique symbol in the country to honor the memory of the fallen and reaffirm Argentine sovereignty over the islands.
