With the complicity of the Argentine government, FIFA banned Malvina Islands flags at the match against England

It represents a new and painful chapter of de-Malvinization, where FIFA, in complicity with the authorities of the United States and the Ministry of Security of the Nation itself, prohibited the entry of flags, shirts and any symbol alluding to the Malvinas Islands for this afternoon's crucial match between Argentina and England.

The decision to label the silhouette of our islands as a "provocation" is a direct offense to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in 1982 and to the feelings of an entire people.

Under the fallacious pretext of avoiding "political or provocative messages," the governing body of international football decided to categorize the map of our islands and the claim to national sovereignty on the same level as hate speech or racial intolerance. What is most serious is that the government of Javier Milei , through Security Minister Alejandra Monteoliva, submissively endorsed this measure in police coordination meetings in Virginia.

The Malvinas/Malvinas issue is not "politics," it's about the Constitution and sovereignty.

The decision to label the silhouette of our islands a "provocation" is a direct affront to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in 1982 and to the feelings of an entire nation. Displaying our islands is not a partisan provocation: it is the fulfillment of the First Transitory Provision of the National Constitution, which establishes the recovery of these territories and maritime spaces as a permanent and inalienable objective.

The inaction of the national security cabinet sparked strong condemnation from the entire opposition and veterans' centers . Various legislative blocs described the measure as "shameful" and "treasonous," emphasizing that banning the image of the Malvina Islands is tantamount to mutilating the very map of Argentina. What will happen if a fan enters wearing a shirt with the official map of the country? Will they also be censored by US security?

The banners may be silenced, but not the feeling.

While British delegations exerted their historic diplomatic pressure to downplay the colonialist claim even in a football stadium, Argentine authorities chose to bow their heads under the pretext of preventing incidents.

Although the search at gates 3 and 4 of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will attempt to confiscate every banner and every shirt that reminds us that the archipelago belongs to us, there is something that FIFA and English colonialism will not be able to confiscate: the deafening chant of thousands of Argentinians who, today more than ever, will make it felt in Atlanta that the Malvinas were, are and will be Argentinian .
