Navitas UK CEO Ian Ramsay outlined the definitive plan for the Sea Lion oil field on British television. This includes ongoing civil port works, slated for completion in a few months; a continuous drilling campaign beginning in January 2027; and the arrival of an FPSO factory ship in December of that year, with the first barrel expected to be extracted in March 2028. The plan also included an onshore base, the construction of a large hotel, and the logistical use of the Mount Pleasant military base.

 The Sea Lion oil project in the illegal North Malvina Basin, developed by Great Britain , is no longer just a projection on paper by transnational corporations. In an extensive interview with the colonial television channel Malvina Islands Television (FITV), Ian Ramsay , CEO of Navitas UK , surgically revealed the logistical, civil, and operational timeline that the Anglo-Israeli consortium, formed with Rockhopper , is implementing in usurped Argentine territory.

 Ramsay 's statements, accompanied by engineering plans and images of heavy machinery operating on the coast of Puerto Argentino, revealed the consolidation of an industrial complex, with production deadlines set imminently.

Port infrastructure and land base underway

According to the Navitas executive, the onshore civil preparations are well underway to ensure logistical support for offshore operations. The work is focused on the port facilities used in previous oil exploration campaigns, which are being permanently transformed and expanded.

Housing logistics and the 160-room transit hotel

To sustain the flow of workers without creating a permanent demographic saturation in the islands' capital, the oil operator has designed a staff rotation system (a scheme of 28 days of work followed by 28 days of rest).

To this end, the on-the-ground infrastructure will include the construction of a dedicated heliport at the civil airport, 12 permanent residences for senior staff, and a prefabricated transit hotel with 160 en-suite rooms for rotating staff.

The crews will spend an average of 12 hours at this hotel complex before being transferred by helicopter to the offshore platforms or to the military base to leave the archipelago.

Ramsay estimated that the permanent staff of technical personnel residing there will be approximately 40 people, including local employees and those hired from other countries.

The military air bridge at the service of the oil companies

The international connectivity of Project Sea Lion will depend directly on the UK's occupation military infrastructure in the South Atlantic. Navitas confirmed it will charter a large aircraft—with a capacity similar to the AirTanker Airbus A330s that operate the Royal Air Force's airlift—to regularly transport replacement crews directly from London to Mount Pleasant Air Base .

In a display of commercial synchronicity and a search for "social affinity" with the implanted population, Ramsay anticipated that all the excess capacity in seats and air cargo that the oil operations do not use will be poured into the colony's commercial market.

Drilling schedule, vessels and platforms

The CEO of Navitas UK explained in detail the critical phases of the equipment and vessels, both those that are yet to come and the medium-term projections:

1.    Arrival of the Drilling Unit (Late 2026 / Early 2027): The mobile drilling unit will arrive in the basin in the coming months. The subsea well drilling campaign will run continuously from January 2027 to June 2028 .

2.    Specialized Construction Vessel (June - July 2027): A high-tech construction vessel will arrive in the area to install the underwater equipment, pipelines, and control lines that will connect the seabed to the surface. These tasks will be completed by mid-2028.

3.    Arrival of the FPSO Factory Vessel (December 2027): The main production facility—a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel—is currently being detached from the field and transported to a shipyard in Southeast Asia, where it will be modernized and adapted to the climatic and production requirements of Sea Lion. Its arrival at the field is expected by the end of 2027.

4.    Extraction of the first barrel (March 2028): The platform will formally enter production in March 2028, starting an extraction cycle planned to extend for more than 30 years.

Finally, Ramsay revealed that corporate expansion plans are already proceeding according to schedule. As Agenda Malvinas anticipated, the consortium has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to incorporate a second floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel , projecting its entry into service around 2030 if the complementary feasibility studies prove favorable.

The train of plunder, in the words of the operating oil company's own director, has already left the station. With cranes, bulldozers, and articulated trucks consolidating the port facilities on land, the Anglo-Israeli consortium is advancing steadily toward the open exploitation of Argentina's energy resources.
