Silversea , Royal Caribbean 's ultra-luxury cruise brand, announced this Thursday the construction of a hotel in Puerto Williams (Chile) to improve the customer experience on the expedition to Antarctica, as a further step in what it has been doing since the 2022-2023 season, when the company chose this coastal town in southern Chile for its summer Antarctic operations.
The new hotel, which will have 150 rooms, will be built in collaboration with a consortium of Chilean investors and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, according to a statement.

Facilities will include a restaurant for group meetings, a bar and lounge, a gym and a gift shop. “Thus, passengers participating in Silversea's air cruise program, 'Antarctica Bridge' --the fastest and most direct route to Antarctica-- will fly directly to Puerto Williams from Santiago, the capital of Chile,” Infobae published yesterday, without explaining which aircraft will operate on the complex and short runway in the town next to Ushuaia.
Located in the sub-Antarctic zone of the Chilean Patagonia region, at the southern tip of South America, and built on the northern coast of Navarino Island and on the southern bank of the Beagle Channel, Puerto Williams competes with Ushuaia in the symbolic race to be the southernmost city in the world.

Silversea is an ultra-luxury and expedition travel brand based in Monaco.
