May 21 and 22, 1960, successive earthquakes in Valdivia, Chile; which reached 9.5 on the Richter Scale.

In May 1960, while President Arturo Frondizi ruled Argentina and the world was mired in the Cold War, a series of events unfolded in secret, leaving a scar on the history of the region that to this day remains hidden and exempt from responsibilities. .

In a report based on declassified files by journalist Alejandro Crivisqui , published on his YouTube channel “Patriotic Periodism” , the secret plot behind the testing of micronuclear bombs in the bed of the Deseado River, in the province of Santa Cruz, is unraveled. ; with the purpose of recovering the watercourse from Lake Buenos Aires . A fact that only had as its only result, states the journalist, a devastating earthquake in Chile.

Arturo Frondizi governed Argentina, Peronism was outlawed, and the world was in a critical stage of the Cold War. The United States, led by Eisenhower was immersed in the development of nuclear weapons, despite the signed moratorium. In this context, on May 20, 1960, clandestine nuclear tests were carried out in Argentina, with the complicity of the government itself.

To bring the bombs to Patagonia, the Argentine Navy, in collaboration with the Pentagon; carried out the construction of a landing strip for seaplanes in Puerto Deseado. However, the project was not a common event of military logistics, but rather hid a dark purpose: to carry out nuclear tests with microbombs in the desolate south of Argentina.

And according to Crivisqui , these experiments were the cause of the catastrophic earthquake in Valdivia, Chile ; May 21 and 22, 1960; which caused the loss of thousands of lives and a tsunami that affected several regions of the world.

The plan was to avoid using dynamite to excavate the long, dry canal, and instead detonate small atomic bombs placed in a line.

They calculated that after the explosions, there would be clean craters one after another. According to the report, the Pentagon, in its hurry, did not take into account that such explosions underground would release a large disproportionate amount of energy. Even less that they would cause major seismic movements, taking take into account that southern America is an eminently volcanic area; that is, high seismic risk.

Negligence in the management of atomic energy caused the unusual earthquake that reached 9.5 degrees on the Richter scale in the vicinity of the city of Valdivia.A subsequent tsunami left a trail of destruction.
