Defense Minister Luis Petri, received by NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana in May, presenting the letter of intent for Argentina to become a global partner of the Atlantic coalition.

The National Defense Commission of the Justicialist Party published this Saturday 24th; a severe analysis of the first eight months of Javier Milei's government ; stating that decisions have been made in matters of defense that imply an abandonment of sovereignty and national autonomy .

He claims that the government has proposed reforms that irresponsibly involve the Armed Forces in tasks that are proper to the security forces (Gendarmerie and Prefecture), moving away from the laws that support democracy. In addition, it has militarized civilian spaces, such as the Military Manufacturing plant in Fray Luis Beltrán , which has interrupted the equal pay of military personnel; defunded the National University of Defense and is seeking the inclusion of Argentina in NATO , which could involve the country in international armed conflicts, breaking with the country's peaceful tradition.
