Pisarello Prados expressed solidarity with the Argentine student and workers movement.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, the Argentine-Spanish deputy of SUMAR, Gerardo Pisarello Prados, expressed his bloc's rejection of the visit that the Argentine president, Javier Milei , has planned to the Viva 24 festival organized by Vox , an extreme group Spanish right, and which will take place on May 18 and 19 at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid.

Gerardo Pisarello Prados, first secretary of the Congress Board; He said that “Milei's visit to Spain will have the exclusive objective of participating in a neo-Franco party organized by Vox every year.” He also strongly criticized the statement drafted by the Office of the Argentine President, maintaining that “it seems to be drafted by Abascal or José María Aznar” and supports the lies “of a Falangist association like Clean Hands that infamously criminalizes the migrant population and that It also offends thousands of Basques, Catalans, Galicians who do not vote with the extreme right.”

The SUMAR deputy made it clear that the repudiation of the Argentine president has to do with political and economic issues since those who will meet at the festival organized by Vox are part of a reactionary international, financed from the US and that includes characters like Abascal, Bolsonaro or Aznar.

He also stated that this reactionary international has promoted coups d'état in Latin America and denies the legitimacy of governments that have expanded or seek to expand rights for the benefit of the people, putting limits on the greed of the most powerful and billionaires.

“This reactionary international of which Milei is a part and of which he will come to Spain to show off, denies the crimes of Franco's regime in the same way as the Videla dictatorship in Argentina. “This reactionary international preaches the chainsaw to the weakest but always ends up paying homage to the large investment funds and the most speculative and extractivist sectors of the economy,” said deputy Pisarello Prados , stating categorically that “What Milei comes to defend at the Vox party is the legacy of Pinochet, of Margaret Thatcher […] a policy of absolute submission to the US.”

Pisarello Prados expressed solidarity with the student movement that on 4/23 took to the streets to defend public education and universities, as well as with the Argentine labor movement that carried out the second general strike “to defend the rights of people who live off their work, in the face of the violence of the great private power that Milei wants to impose.”

Protests against Milei's presence will take place in Madrid, Barcelona and several other cities.
