LPO says that Defense considers a sector of Argentine territory to be “international airspace”

He reported that the Ministry of Defense said that the British military plane that approached the commercial flights of Aerolíneas and Flybondi, “was not in Argentine airspace, but in international airspace.”

According to La Política OnLine, LPO ; the Ministry of Defense said that the British Airbus 400 M Atlas that approached the route of the commercial aircraft of the companies Aerolíneas Argentinas and Flybondi , between Ushuaia and Buenos Aires; "It was not in Argentine airspace, but international airspace." An anonymous source from that ministry told them that "if that had happened, we would have warned them."

The facts were disclosed on Tuesday by Agenda Malvinas, after having documented through the satellite flight detection platform flightradar24 , that one of the British military aircraft based at the NATO military base in the Malvina Islands, was at least 40 miles from 4 flights of the two Argentine companies, near the province of Santa Cruz.

The concrete thing was that Flightradar24 allowed us to observe how; the turbojet Airbus 400 Atlas of the British Royal Air Force, registration -ZM421 ; made a dangerous and suggestive approach to the commercial aircraft of Aerolíneas Argentinas ARG1888 and ARG1886 , and FBZ5997 and FBZ 5995 of Flybondi , between 2 and 2:20 p.m. on Monday 13th.

 

LPO also says that “the presence of a British military aircraft in Argentine territory angered a large part of the Ministry of Defense led by Luis Petri.”
