Due to the incorporation by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland of a trade and tourism desk from the Malvina Islands at the “WTM Latin America” fair, held in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, the Governor Gustavo Melella formally communicated with the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Argentina , Julio Glinternick Bitelli ; as well as with the Argentine Ambassador to that country, Daniel Raimondi.

The Secretary specifically stated that the Province requested the Argentine Ambassador in Brazil to arbitrate the pertinent means for the formalization of the protests before the organizations responsible for the organization of the “WTM Latin America”, stating, In addition, the collaboration of the delegation of the Fuegian Institute of Tourism (INFUETUR) is available, which is part of the delegation headed by the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Ministry of the Interior, Daniel Scioli , in said event.
Regarding the letter sent to the Brazilian Embassy, Dachary explained that “the Ambassador, Julio Bitelli, was asked to find a solution consistent with his historical support for our legitimate sovereign rights regarding the Question of the Malvinas Islands to respond to these provocative acts of a colonial power that, using good faith, tries to take advantage of the situation to undermine our just rights and strengthen its position.”
