A group of national deputies from Unión por la Patria presented a request for information to the National Executive Power to provide details on the flight of the Airbus 400M registration ZM42, of the British Royal Air Force; detected by Agenda Malvinas last week, which took off from the NATO base in the Malvinas Islands and approached 64 kilometers from the route operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas and Flybondi aircraft, over the South Atlantic, near the province of Santa Cruz.

Among the grounds of the project headed by the deputy from Santa Cruz, Ana María Ianni, they detailed that on January 13 at 2:20 p.m. “an Airbus 400M Atlas military aircraft, belonging to the British Royal Air Force, made a dangerous approach to Argentine commercial flights, over the South Atlantic.” In addition, they pointed out that the flight and the departure and takeoff points were confirmed through the “Flightradar24” platform and by “journalistic sources.”

They said that 4 local flights were affected by the incident. They also stated that “ at the point of maximum approach, the aircraft turned off its transponder, which prevented the exact distance between the military aircraft and the commercial flights from being recorded, so that even the checked distance of 64 km or 40 miles could have been less.”

At the end of the text, they warned that "respecting the sensitivity of our people regarding issues related to territorial sovereignty in the face of the British advance on our rights, a situation very present throughout Patagonia, but especially in my province of Santa Cruz, merits that the Executive Branch take the pertinent actions to clarify this situation and inform this Honorable Chamber about its findings."

The draft resolution was supported by national deputies Pablo Yedlin, Martín Aveiro, Jorge Romero, Ricardo Herrera, Sabrina Selva, Christian Zulli, Victoria Tolosa Paz, Gustavo González, Natalia Zabala Chacur, Jorge Araujo Hernández, Mónica Litza, Carlos Castagneto, Pablo Todero and Julio Pereyra.
