Victor continues to advance not only towards a physical destiny, but also towards a deep recognition of collective memory.

Victor Guerrero , known as the “ Road Warrior ,” is in the midst of an epic journey that takes him from San Juan to the Malvina Islands . At 47 years old , the cyclist has traveled more than 2,000 kilometers , crossing various Argentine provinces , and facing challenges along the way.

Since April 2024 , Guerrero began his journey with the intention of paying tribute to the combatants of the Malvinas War . “ I started doing odd jobs, I put together my cart and got on the bike ,” said Victor .

Their trip is more than just a tour, it is a civic act of respect and memory towards the Argentine heroes who fought in the armed conflict of 1982 .

Victor is currently making his way towards Tierra del Fuego , having crossed the Río Negro . His ultimate goal is to embark for the Malvina Islands , a destination full of symbolism and shared grief.

My goal does not end in Malvinas. Once I arrive, my bike and the cart will go to the San Antonio Oeste museum ,” he said, reflecting his commitment to the memory of the fallen .

Since he was 14 , Guerrero worked as a truck driver , an experience that allowed him to get to know the country in depth. However, his life took a new turn in 2019, after his vehicle was stolen and the pandemic hit, leaving him stranded in San Juan . Amid the uncertainty, he decided to reinvent himself and embark on this unique journey.

But the journey has not been easy. In November , Guerrero faced one of the hardest tests of her life: the loss of her son . “ This is the second child that has passed away and I have to go and say goodbye to him. It is a pain that I never thought I would feel again ,” she said in conversation with Somos el Valle .

That personal pain attracted the attention of Victor Burgos , a representative of the ARA San Juan in Santa Cruz , who contacted Guerrero with an offer of support. “ When you are in Río Gallegos we will meet. I want to help you on your journey ,” he told him.

In early January, Victor arrived in Zapala , Río Negro , after braving extreme temperatures on his journey along the iconic Route 40. Despite the adversities, Guerrero remains steadfast and focused on his mission: to reach the Malvinas Islands to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for their country . His journey not only symbolizes a tribute to those who fell in the war , but is also presented as a powerful story of resistance in the face of life's difficulties .

In a country that has yet to learn to remember and honor its heroes , Victor Guerrero 's journey stands as a testament to love, pain and overcoming . His story, marked by loss and challenge , inspires others to value the sacrifice of those who fought and to never give up in the pursuit of their dreams.
