The recognized: CARLOS OSCAR RAMON SANTILLAN, JORGE DANIEL ALBORNOZ, JORGE OMAR ANAYA, JOSE SANTIAGO BARTHA and WILFREDO ADRIAN BARREIRO.

The recognition has its origin in the ruling of the Federal Court of Goya, Corrientes ; later confirmed by the Federal Court of Appeals of that city; establishing a historic legal precedent by validating the support and logistics tasks carried out by the crew of the ship during the war, which were denied for 42 years -in military terms- by the Argentine Navy itself.

At the event, certificates were presented to Mr. CARLOS OSCAR RAMON SANTILLAN, Mr. JORGE DANIEL ALBORNOZ, Mr. JORGE OMAR ANAYA, Mr. JOSE SANTIAGO BARTHA and Mr. WILFREDO ADRIAN BARREIRO.

With this official accreditation, the five crew members are incorporated into the Malvinas Veterans Status, with the rights and benefits provided for in Law 23,188.

The ministerial resolution is based on Decree 1,357/2004 and Decree 2,634/1990 , which authorize the Ministry of Defense to recognize and issue war veteran certificates. This regulatory framework guarantees the honorees access to the corresponding rights, including their incorporation into the Official Registry of Malvinas War Veterans.

Furthermore, the National Congress had previously highlighted the work of these crew members through Law 23.188 , which honours the struggle to claim sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands. This recognition reaffirms the State's commitment to those who contributed, from different positions, to the defence of the Homeland.
