The long day allowed the Unidos para Cambiar Santa Fe (United to Change Santa Fe), Activamos (Activatemos), Más para Santa Fe (More for Santa Fe) , and Frente de la Esperanza blocs to reach consensus on almost all of the issues discussed.

But controversy arose when the issue of including a paragraph in which the province recognizes national sovereignty over the Malvina Islands and Antarctica was addressed .

The paradox was that hours before , "representatives of all political forces said that a broad consensus is not enough for this text and agreed that the opinion on this issue in the Commission on the Functioning of the State and Citizen Participation must contain the signatures of its 15 members," reported El Litoral .

Apparently, that was not the case, since La Libertad Avanza withdrew during the debate on the sovereignty of the Malvinas .

“With the coincidence of being very close in their approaches, Malvinas briefly unleashed the cross-attacks that characterize campaign speeches. This allowed the delegates, from left to right, to commit to returning to the committee at 2:00 PM with the goal of unanimously passing an article on this national cause ,” El Ciudadano noted, but this unfortunately did not happen. “The committee debate resumed at 2:30 PM. The hearing began with the additions requested by De Ponti and Calvo. That harmony was broken when Fandos (LLA) criticized Unidos' “lack of generosity” for not adding his request and announced that he would not sign a single opinion,” the website added.

This led to the presentation of two separate opinions, one by the majority and the other by La Libertad Avanza , which did so completely alone, which was particularly surprising given that, prior to the debate, it was considered a topic with complete consensus. The Somos Vida y Libertad bloc, led by Amalia Granata, did not participate in the session , which demonstrates the low importance these two political blocs attach to the Malvinas issue and cause.

La Libertad Avanza had requested the inclusion of provisions regarding the protocol treatment of national and provincial patriotic symbols in the articles, a proposal that was rejected by the committee, considering it unrelated to the Malvinas issue. In response to this decision, the Libertarian bloc opted to withdraw from the meeting. The response from the Santa Fe ruling party was immediate: "They are using a noble cause to play politics," they said.

The text signed by the majority, which enables the inclusion of a clause on the Malvinas Islands in the future Santa Fe constitution, was worded as follows: "The Province irrevocably ratifies Argentina's legitimate and imprescriptible sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, the corresponding maritime and insular spaces and their Antarctic projection, as they are an integral part of the national territory. The recovery of said territories, the restitution of territorial integrity and the full exercise of sovereignty, respecting the way of life of its inhabitants and in accordance with the principles of International Law, constitute permanent and non-negotiable objectives. The Province promotes and implements active policies for the protection of war veterans, as well as educational policies for the exercise of active memory," reported AIREDIGITAL .
