The main terminal building will have a covered area of approximately 6,800 m².

The Mirgor Group presented a project to build the new Cruise Terminal for passengers in the Port of Ushuaia. The investment is estimated at US$ 25 million, and includes both the construction of the building and the installation of the services and furniture necessary for its implementation.

The Mirgor initiative has already received initial approval from the Provincial Port Authority and is a project of interest to the province, within the framework of the recent Private Initiative Law promoted by the Government of Tierra del Fuego.

The new terminal aims to boost local, national and international tourism activities, including a comprehensive space for complementary activities such as supplies, administrative and technical support, among others.

An estimated flow of at least 300,000 people per season is expected, of which half are cruise passengers and the other half are catamaran passengers. Furthermore, the flow of people is projected to grow by 3% annually for 5 years.

At the same time, the project seeks to develop and strengthen current demands for tourism infrastructure, fundamental pillars for the sustainable growth of any destination.

The project includes both the construction of the new terminal and the required adaptations to the current port facilities.

The company estimates that 350 direct and indirect temporary jobs will be created during the construction phases. It expects that the operation of the Terminal will generate an average of between 40 and 50 jobs depending on the seasonality of the operation.

What is the Mirgor Terminal project like?

The main terminal building will have a surface area of approximately 6,800 m² of covered space and 1,900 m² of uncovered and semi-covered areas. In addition, the creation of a new "gate-in" access, paving, filling, fencing and wire fencing, among other complementary works, is planned.

The proposal is made within the framework of the new Private Initiative Law, which strengthens public and private coordination, allowing the private sector to identify needs, present projects and invest in strategic initiatives that improve the capacity to respond to urgent needs.
