Through a document entitled "A new agreement for the delivery of sovereignty in our South Atlantic", the Centre of Ex-combatants of the Malvinas Islands of La Plata, CECIM , denounced the recent diplomatic treaty between the Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino and her British counterpart, David Lammy , for the damage it means for the interests of Argentina in the question of the Malvinas Islands and the South Atlantic.
The text harshly criticizes Foreign Minister Mondino and President Javier Milei for having taken decisions that violate the National Constitution and other international agreements that protect Argentine sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, its resources and maritime territories; which constitutes a new advance of the Foradori-Duncan agreement of 2016, which like this one was detrimental to Argentine interests, they state.
The document also calls on political forces and society to reject this agreement, which is considered a betrayal of the soldiers who fell in the Malvinas War and a serious setback in the struggle for Argentine sovereignty. The government is accused of acting in the interests of British interests, rendering invisible the British colonial and military occupation in the region.
