The illegitimate Government of the Malvinas Islands announced that it intends to improve the system of surveillance and control of electronic information on fishing vessels that operate in the area.
The notification was through the Department of Fisheries , from where they indicated that the contracts with the fishing companies should propose an integrated modern system for greater control of the predation of resources that belong to Argentina but are exploited by usurpers. .
The spokespersons for the illegitimate administration of the archipelago, MercoPress , reported that “by taking advantage of the use of modern technologies today, there will be a significant improvement in the ability of the Department of Fisheries to monitor fishing activity in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Malvina Islands”, adding that "the system can be extended to the Maritime Authority and other Overseas Territories if there is interest in doing so."
“The fishing industry and other interested parties have been informed about the proposed new surveillance and catch reporting system,” they mentioned on the website.
They added that “after the award of the corresponding contracts and as part of the implementation plan, the fishing industry and other interested parties will be recommitted to ensure the timely delivery of the system of improvement in quality and timeliness of the Department of Fisheries and the industry of the Islands.
