This Friday, the Chief of the Salta Police, Diego Bustos, received the Malvinas War Veterans (VGM) after a video went viral showing a member of the local force mistreating and insulting the Malvinas veteran Gustavo Ibarra , in a Tarjeta Naranja branch, by declaring: "That's why we lost Malvinas."
"This institution apologized for the words that the non-commissioned officer allegedly said, at this time the staff is suspended and administrative actions are being carried out to investigate the case," said Commissioner Bustos.
For his part, the Air Force Vice Commander, Ramón Galván, said that " we are here to honor the 649 true heroes of the country and that we will defend them in all circumstances."
In the morning, the National Commission of Malvinas War Veterans sent a letter requesting the "necessary intervention" of the highest authorities of the Police, "taking into account that the personnel, due to their position in the force, must exercise respect and good manners towards all citizens in general, especially respect for the person of a Malvinas War Veteran, who had the honour of defending the sovereignty of our islands."
