The meeting took place within the framework of the Annual Event of the International Regional and Urban Cooperation Program.

The Secretary of the Malvinas, Antarctica, South Atlantic Islands and International Affairs, Andrés Dachary , was invited by the European Union to speak on behalf of the Province before MEPs regarding the state of international cooperation between said bloc and the rest of the world.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Annual Event of the International Regional and Urban Cooperation Program (IURC), in which in addition to presenting the results achieved by Tierra del Fuego AIAS in its joint work with its European counterpart -Opolskie, Poland-, Dachary expressed the views of various regions of the world regarding the importance of international cooperation programs at a time when the European budget is being debated.

In this regard, the Secretary maintained that "in a very short time we have made Tierra del Fuego a central actor in the world of decentralized cooperation, and this is essentially due to two factors, a political will that since the beginning of the administration has proposed by Governor Melella, promoting our province to be a central actor in the international system, combined with the possibility of having highly qualified teams for this challenge.

"Today the European bloc is going through an extremely complex moment as a result of the war that is knocking on its doors, the consequent increase in the prices of commodities, especially energy and agriculture, and the crisis in the Middle East.
