The British colony in the Malvinas Islands called for public hearings for the new port.

The chosen company is Keynvor MorLift Ltd (KLM), a United Kingdom-based marine services specialist. In May, they hoped to have it operational by the end of 2027. 570 kilometers away, in Río Grande, the Mirgor group's port project has been delayed for three years.

The hearings are scheduled for Tuesday the 28th and Wednesday the 29th, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The project to build a multimodal port in the Malvina Islands, promoted by the illegitimate British colonial administration, is entering a phase of public debate with a call for information sessions in the coming days . The initiative seeks to replace the current and obsolete FIPASS (Malvina Interim Port and Storage System), but is being developed amid controversy and Argentine opposition to the consolidation of the usurped infrastructure.

In this regard, the Malvina Islands Government's Office of Business Development and Services has called the public to a series of "update" sessions on the Port Replacement Project .

According to Mercopress , the sessions will be held in the Harbor Lights Conference Room , in the usurping capital, on Tuesday , October 28, 2025 , and Wednesday, October 29, 2025 , between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Members of the port replacement team will be present to inform, respond, and discuss the proposed plans . The debate is expected to be intense due to the controversy surrounding previous failed attempts to contract a company to build the new terminal.

A vital project for the usurpers

This announcement of hearings is another step in the British plan to complete a project they consider vital to the logistics and growth of the colony. The project calls for a pier over 400 meters long and 60 meters wide, to meet the growing needs of fishing, hydrocarbon exploitation, tourism, scientific research, and Antarctic expansion.

The most recent information, published by Agenda Malvinas in May of this year , noted that the illegitimate legislative assembly was anticipating imminent news about the contract for the works. The usurping legislator Mark Pollard had announced that the Executive Council of the government of the Islands would receive a complete proposal with costs, following negotiations with UK-based marine services specialist Keynvor MorLift Ltd (KLM) . The new port is expected to be operational by the end of 2027 .

Support from the Rothschild Bank

The urgency to advance the project is also explained by the recent securing of funding. In March 2025, it was announced that the occupation government had secured £150 million (approximately US$194 million) in investments for the port project and a new power plant, with the advice of the Rothschild & Co. bank.

This long-term financing, from L&G and Aberdeen Group PLC , consolidates the economic strategy of the usurpation. The presence of the House Rothschild, with investments also in lithium and copper mining in Argentina (through the Anglo-Australian company Rio Tinto), reinforces the Argentine theory that the new port is a key element in a new phase of natural resource exploitation in the South Atlantic and Antarctica, serving Britain's geopolitical and economic interests.
