"We clearly and firmly convey to Argentina that such steps will have a hostile nature," said the Russian ambassador to Argentina.

Yesterday, Russia notified the Argentine Government that the possible delivery of military equipment to Ukraine "will have a hostile nature."

The diplomatic expressions arose after President Javier Milei incorporated Argentina into the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine. A multilateral military entity led by the United States.

This was stated by the ambassador of that Nation in our Country Dmitry Feoktístov; who in February 2020 from Ushuaia and together with ex-combatants from Malvinas and the governor of Tierra del Fuego, Gustavo Melella ; He told Great Britain: “The time for colonialism has passed and the English must return the Islands to Argentina.”

“We are concerned about press reports about the possible delivery of Argentine tanks through Germany, the same scheme with planes through France. We convey clearly and firmly to Argentina that such steps "They will have a hostile character," the ambassador said at a press conference.

Prior to this, Infobae had reported that the Milei Government; was studying the delivery of five Super Etendard combat aircraft, which had been out of use for several years due to an embargo by Great Britain due to the Malvinas War. Matter that Foreign Minister Diana Mondino was negotiating with French President Emmanuel Macron.

In any case, Feoktístov stressed that his country was confident that Argentina would not get involved in the Ukrainian conflict and would maintain its traditional moderation.

“This will allow the friendly nature of Russian-Argentine relations to be preserved, regardless of the political situation,” he stressed.

On the other hand, the newspaper Cronista also said that Argentina was negotiating the transfer of TAM tanks designed by Germany to Ukraine.

The warning is not new; Russia has repeatedly stated that sending weapons to Ukraine prevents ending the conflict and involves NATO member countries in the fighting.

In this regard, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, denounced that the United States and NATO participate directly in the conflict, not only transferring weapons, but also training the Ukrainian military in Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.
