Donald Trump threatened Panama, Mexico, Canada and Greenland

Before taking office, the US president-elect threatened the sovereignty of four American nations, whose governments responded categorically in defense of their respective countries, receiving worldwide support.

Donald Trump's return to the White House, with the Monroe Doctrine under his arm.

The President-elect of the United States of North America, Donald Trump , will assume a new term on January 20, 2025. True to his style, in the weeks leading up to his inauguration he began with a barrage of high-voltage political statements that do nothing but make evident what many have already anticipated: starting next year, he will intensify the Monroe Doctrine , which since 1823 has maintained "America for Americans" , which represents a true sword of Damocles over the rest of the countries of America, because as we all know, when the Americans say that, they are actually saying: "America... for Americans" .

On Saturday, December 21, from his X account, Trump launched a harsh threat against the government, the Panamanian people and against the administration of the Panama Canal.

As if he were an incarnation of Ares - the Greek god of war - who descended once again to Earth to sow discord, but this time sporting a blond wig and in his smug gringo English, Donald Trump threatened "Panama with claiming the reins of the Canal in its entirety and without question, if agreements are not respected and tariffs are not reduced, which he described as 'exorbitant' for US merchant and naval vessels," highlighted the En Segundos portal.

Trump said that the transfer of the Canal administration to Panamanian hands was “an act of extraordinary generosity on the part of the United States.” One would have to ask him if the bloody invasion of Panama in 1989 was also another act of extraordinary Yankee generosity .

According to Trump , “Former President Jimmy Carter foolishly gave the Canal to Panama for one dollar, during his term and it was the exclusive responsibility of Panama, not China or anyone else,” adding that: “It was not given for the benefit of others, but simply as a show of cooperation with us and Panama,” said the future president of the United States.

“If the moral and legal principles of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us in its entirety and without question ,” warned the Yankee magnate who is beginning to sponsor a new Armageddon, because according to him: “Our Navy and Commerce have been treated in a very unfair and reckless manner. The tariffs that Panama charges are ridiculous, especially knowing the extraordinary generosity that has been granted to Panama by the United States. This complete scam of our country will cease immediately,” warned the president-elect of the United States.

The response of the President of Panama, José Raúl Mulino , was not long in coming and he immediately and strongly rejected the Republican's threats, calling the sovereignty of the Panama Canal "non-negotiable" , stating that: "Every square meter of the Panama Canal belongs to Panama and will continue to do so. The sovereignty and independence of our country are not negotiable." In this way, and backed by several Latin American leaders, Mulino reaffirmed in an institutional video that the transoceanic route will continue to be Panamanian.

Trump , in the typical style of the belligerent and arrogant Yankee imperialists, ridiculed the dignified stance of President Mulino on social media, first with a threatening: “We’ll see” ; and then with a photo of a canal where a Yankee flag was waving, to which Trump added the provocative phrase: “Welcome to the United States Canal!” This attitude unleashed a storm of worldwide criticism and generated protests in Panama that led to the burning of Yankee flags and a mobilization that tore Trump ’s name off the front of his hotel in the Panamanian capital. Apparently, a ghost is haunting America, it is the ghost of anti-imperialism.

“Trump needs a war with China and is positioning himself with the Panama Canal ,” said political analyst Enrique Cocero on the Negocios TV website.

According to Cocero's explanation to Negocios TV, Trump 's vehement messages seek to ensure control of strategic areas for the US, especially the Panama Canal, where China is accused of having influence, which were denied by the Chinese government, which came out to counter the absurd and irrational versions that Trump spread when he claimed that there were 38,000 Chinese soldiers in the canal. The analyst considered that these actions respond to the need of the United States to control key commercial routes between the Atlantic and the Pacific, especially in a context of tensions with China, Taiwan and other allied countries.

But if we thought that Ares ' representative on Earth was going to stop here, we would soon find out that he wasn't. In another demonstration of the imperialist arrogance that he likes to flaunt, Trump also threatened Mexico. And it is that "Mr. Puñetero" , as the members of Molotov would say, said that, when he takes office, he will designate the drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

As reported by Agencia NOVA, this controversial statement, “which does not include concrete details, has rekindled fears of a possible US military intervention in Mexican territory.” The portal highlighted that the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum , responded firmly: “Mexico will never subordinate itself or accept interference.”

“The hardline wing of the Republican Party, which openly fantasizes about bombing fentanyl laboratories in Mexico, has found in Trump its main ally for this highly dangerous narrative. As if that were not enough, the Republican once again threatened to impose brutal tariffs on Mexico and Canada if they do not take measures to stop the flow of migrants and drugs to the United States ,” reported Agencia NOVA.

The icing on the cake would come with the threats against Canada and Greenland. Trump “mocked Canadian officials by suggesting that the US could absorb its northern neighbor and make it the 51st state” and also “resurfaced a desire from his first term to obtain Greenland, a Danish territory that he has had his eye on for a long time,” CNN in Spanish reported.

“With Trump, the differences between serious policy proposals and rhetorical flourishes intended to spark media attention or energize his base are not always clear. At other times, his provocations have seemed to be the opening salvos in his attempts to reach agreements ,” CNN in Spanish stated.

Apparently, not all gringos are losing their minds, in the face of growing questions about their political hegemony and the difficult challenges posed to their supposed military supremacy. Because, to paraphrase the popular saying: better an Oreshnik in hand than a hundred Patriots flying… above, trying to stop him in vain.
